バイリンガルFMの学習記録＆ちょっとした日常

最近土曜日は英語の日。
ということでバイリンガルFMのレッスンに行ってきました

今回のテーマは〝Trauma”
トラウマって普段考えることは少なくて、同じようなできごとに出会ったときにゾッとして気付くので、なかなか話題を見つけるのが難しかったです。
でもご一緒したみなさんは色々な話題をお持ちで笑いの絶えないレッスンでした



New Vocabulary & Example Sentences:
1. turbulence:(n)(感情の)動揺、(社会の)混乱、<気象>乱気流
We are experiencing some turbulence, please return to your seats and fasten your safety belt.
2. phobia:(n)恐怖症
He has a phobia of spiders, even he only sees a web, he will panic.
3. get stuck:(ある状況から)抜け出せなくなる
The fly got stuck in the spider's web.

・wary:(a)(人が)用心深い、慎重な
・listen to～:Listen to teacher!
・Better late than never
・fog up:fog right up(ガラス・窓などが)すぐ曇る
・instinct:(n)本能、直感、生まれ持った才能
・sulk:(n)不機嫌　(v)不機嫌になる、ふくれる、すねる
・burn out:燃え尽きる、燃やし尽くす、焼き尽くす、焼き切る

今回私には難しいハイレベルな会話が展開されました
たぶん会話の半分も理解していませんでしたが、とにかく英語を浴びることも大事なのでメモを取りつつ参加させていただきました。

いつも動画を見ると先生との顔の大きさの違いにとなります(笑)
そこ注目する前に英語のできなさを反省しろって話ですよね。。

11月20日バイリンガルFMのレッスンとグループトークに行ってきました！

まずはグループトークの復習を。
今回のテーマは“Three places I would like to go”
アフリカのサファリとか鳥取の水木しげるロードとか、私も行ってみたいと思う場所があがりました。

1.Soft/fluffy(noun) : not strong. no muscles ：綿毛の、フワッとした、浮ついた
Example: I've stopped going to the gym, so now I'm getting kind soft/fluffy.
2. self-conscious (adj.) : to think about one's looks and value ：自意識
Example: I feel so self conscious about my clothes, because everyone is so fashionable.
3. Major (verb) : study at a college or university ：専攻する
Example: I am majoring in International Studies.

・pragmatics
(n)語用論：その言語の持つ文化やマナーなどのことだそうで、同じ英語でもイギリスでは初対面の人との会話は天気の話題から入る、一方アメリカでは「元気？」「何をしてるの？」などといった話題から入るといったことがソレだとか。
