最近土曜日は英語の日。
ということでバイリンガルFMのレッスンに行ってきました

今回のテーマは〝Trauma”
トラウマって普段考えることは少なくて、同じようなできごとに出会ったときにゾッとして気付くので、なかなか話題を見つけるのが難しかったです。
でもご一緒したみなさんは色々な話題をお持ちで笑いの絶えないレッスンでした



New Vocabulary & Example Sentences:

今回私には難しいハイレベルな会話が展開されました
たぶん会話の半分も理解していませんでしたが、とにかく英語を浴びることも大事なのでメモを取りつつ参加させていただきました。

いつも動画を見ると先生との顔の大きさの違いにとなります(笑)
そこ注目する前に英語のできなさを反省しろって話ですよね。。

11月20日バイリンガルFMのレッスンとグループトークに行ってきました！

まずはグループトークの復習を。
今回のテーマは“Three places I would like to go”
アフリカのサファリとか鳥取の水木しげるロードとか、私も行ってみたいと思う場所があがりました。

New Vocabulary & Example Sentences:
1.Soft/fluffy(noun) : not strong. no muscles ：綿毛の、フワッとした、浮ついた
Example: I've stopped going to the gym, so now I'm getting kind soft/fluffy.
2. self-conscious (adj.) : to think about one's looks and value ：自意識
Example: I feel so self conscious about my clothes, because everyone is so fashionable.
3. Major (verb) : study at a college or university ：専攻する
Example: I am majoring in International Studies.

16日(火)仕事をさくっと切り上げてバイリンガルＦＭのグループトークに参加しました今回は大盛況で生徒が６人！いろいろな話を聞けて楽しかったです

以下、Melody先生がまとめて下さったポイントとともに復習
テーマは“Your Pet Peeves”　いらっとすること！



Peple that don't say thank you
時に言われず“ええっ”って思うこと、ありますよね。
多くの方が挙げていました。

Bad reviews on amazon
自分の好きな本についてのレビューが悪かったり、買おうとしている本のレビューがわるかったりすると、がっかりしたりムッとしたり…

Long explanations
回りくどい説明って飽きますよね。
そういう自分がやってしまいがちなため反省。。

People putting wa, instead of ha, at the end of the word "Konnnichiwa".
これは私。どうしても“こんばんわ”“こんにちわ”の“わ”が“は”でないと、いらっとするというよりは落ち着かない気分になります。

土曜日はバイリンガルFMの英会話レッスン２クラス。
１クラス目は前に書いたとおりグループレッスン。
そしてこちらは個別レッスン
来月１人でTaxiに乗る可能性があるので、その時使えるスキットです
たどたどしいので参考にはなりませんが、かなり使えるフレーズが盛り込まれていると思うので盗んでいただくと◎かと。

Taxi #1 At the airport

A: To my hotel. It's the Comfort Hotel on Queen St. Here's the address.
B: Great. I think I know it.

A: Alright, get in. It's about 10 minutes away.
B: Okay. Thanks.

Taxi #3 To the museum
(Getting in the taxi)

A: Oh, I'm not sure. I know it's close to the Empress Theatre.
B: Alright then. Would I take a left or a right from the Theatre?
A: I guess it's to the right of the theatre, maybe about 5 minutes drive.
B: Well, cross your fingers and we'll make it.


レッスンの後、Ian先生とお話をしていて“モノマネ”が大事だと教わりました。
意味が分からなくても音を真似てみることで英語らしい発音ができるようになるとのこと。
先生もTVで聞いた日本語を口に出して言ってみているとか。
スキットも覚えるだけでなく、先生のように言えるように練習しなければいけないですね。。

先生の好きなフレーズも教わりました。
“It depeds (on you.)” 君次第だよ。◆相手の決断を促す
“will see”成り行きに任せる/“as we will see later“後で［そのうち］分かるが
ちょっと答えを濁す感じ。こういう表現を使えるようになりたい
先生の奥様はこういう回答がお好きでないとか…

土曜日、バイリンガルＦＭのグループトークに行ってきました！

バイリンガルＦＭのレッスン再開です

もーっ、聞こえない、思い出せない、話せない。。
悲鳴を上げたくなりました
でも今が最低なので、これから本気で取り組むのみ。
めげないぞー
それと、話にはオチがないとだめですね。日本語でも英語でも。。

記憶が新鮮なうちに復習を。

Today's topic was "Favorit Food".
We enjoyed the topic.

First, we talked about what cuisine do we like.
I talked that I like Japanese food.I'm not fed up with Japanese food.
In Japanese food, I especially like boiled food.
Because, it can eat a lot of vegetables by boiling. So, it's a very healthy, and that makes me warm in Autumn and Winter.
I don't like oily food so much.
Sometimes, I can't have ideas what should I eat, when I go foreign country.

Next, we talked about what dish(food) do we like.
Mr.T likes "Soba".
Ms.K likes "fresh peach".
And, Mr.H likes "Anpan".
His method of eating Anpan is interesting. When he eat Anpan, push that a little bit. The reason is he feel sweeter when crushing!!!
He recomended the way to eat.
So, someday when I eat Anpan, I'll try to push that a little bit before eating.
I told I like a chestnut cake. But, I don't have pushed that before.

Today we discussed favorite foods. I asked each student what cuisine (which was one of the new words we learned today) they would choose if they could only choose one for the rest of their life. We had some pretty standard answers, like Japanese cuisine, Korean Cuisine, Thai cuisine, and, of course, Mexican cuisine. Then I asked them to choose one dish which got some interesting responses, like chicken soba and red bean doughnuts. Some of the other words we learned were gorey, like 'the latest saw movie is very gorey' and orchard, like 'There is an apple orchard not far from my house'. Be careful of the mistakes I pointed out to you, but other than that, everyone was great and I had a very enjoyable group talk.

日曜日、バイリンガルＦＭの個人レッスン＆グループトークに行ってきました

この日はなんと１００日挑戦の最終日（実際は１１５日目）だったのですが、はたして私、成長したのでしょうか
確実に言えるのは、
英語を聞くことに拒否反応がなくなった
英語の書類やメールを見てみようという気になった
　（以前はちゃんと読まずに上司に「読んで―」と頼んでいました。笑）
生活に緊張感が生まれた（スキットを覚えるのはひと苦労です）
…といったことです。
もちろんもっともっと感じることはあるのですが、なんだか風邪っぽいので、また追々書いていくことにします。
ちなみに、ちょっとお休みして英語は続けていく予定です

最終レッスンの録画は寒さ対策について。
Ashley先生との会話がそのままスキットになったような感じなので、スーッと頭に入ってきました。
というわりには、つかえているけれどそこは突っ込まないでください！



Title: What do you do to prepare for battle with the cold?
A: Brrr! It's chilly out there! Winter's on the way.
B: Oh no! I'm dreading winter this year.
A: What do you do to combat the cold weather?
B: Well, before bed I usually take a long bath. At night, I wear a down sleeping jacket.
A: Great ideas! I try to stay inside as much as possible. Plus, I wear a hat, mittens, and a scarf whenever I go out...even if I look ridiculous!
B: I guess I don't need all those things because Japan is not as cold as Canada, but I do enjoy a hot beverage now and then, to help me warm up.
A: Mmmm. Sounds good. I could go for a cup of tea right now.
B: I agree. Let's go get some tea!

土曜日、バイリンガルＦＭのマンツーマンレッスンに行ってきました

この日は寒くて長袖を着て行ったものの、少し歩くと蒸し暑い変なお天気
そんな話から始まりスキットは次のグループトークに備え「寒さ対策」についての話題になりました！！
今回は先生との自然な会話からスキットができたので大満足
次のレッスンに向けて練習しまーすっ


さてさて今回の録画はAshley先生と自己紹介についてのスキットです。
I work for a Science Institute.
I work in the accounting section.
forだとかinだとか前置詞は本当に苦手
でも文章でまるっと覚えてしまえば間違うこともないのでいいですよね



Title: Self-Introduction at Party or group talk
A: Hello, my name is Ayako. Nice to meet you.
B: Hello Ayako, tell me about yourself.
A: Well I work for a Science Institute, but I'm no scientist. I work in the accounting section of the institute.
B: Oh wow, a science institute. What sort of research do they do there?
A: The main research that occurs at the institute is biology. They do a lot of research about improving the human body immune system.
B: That is interesting. What else do you do? Do you have any hobbies?
A: Well I like to dance. Sometimes I go to dance lesson such as ballet and jazz dance.
B: Do you have any dance recitals. I would like to see.
A: No, unfortunately. We don't perform. But my younger friends who are university students have dance recitals, so you can see that if you like.
B: Sounds fun. What would you like to do in the future.
A: At the moment, I just plan to continue working and maturing my skills in this field. Because if I settle down, I won't be able to work as much as I do now.
